Kailynne Lee Chiu is a Taiwanese-American filmmaker—producer, director, production designer, and actress.
She is a second-year M.F.A. candidate in Creative Producing at Columbia University’s School of the Arts, where she also serves as a Student Fellow for the Artists’ Resource Center and works as an Admissions Assistant. She serves as the Treasurer for the Interdisciplinary Arts Council, represents Columbia’s student body in the Green Film School Alliance, and volunteers with the Producers Guild of America.
In December 2023, she received her B.F.A. in Film & TV Production from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She is a recipient of the Akhtar-Bhutta 2023-2024 Production Award for Producers and is recognized for her contributions in award-winning projects— Century Egg 皮蛋 (2024), nothing, except everything (2023), Bentobox (2022), and Secrets (2020). At present, her film Simmer, along with her other producing projects Tailbone, Approach, Cowgirl, and Blueberry, is in post-production.
